free the bears.
Free The Bears have done an amazing job so far rescuing bears from the illegal wildlife trade in Asia. My new series, Bears About The House will give you a little insight into just what it takes to care for a rescued baby sun bear, as well as some info on other wildlife in trouble in Asia!
flora and fauna int.
As Vice President, I help to spread the conservation message that FFI represent. A mixture of education, science and putting the power back into the hands of local communities. They have some incredible projects running at the moment, so click through above.
the big cat sanctuary.
As Director I’m involved in the day-to-day operations of the sanctuary. We provide a home for big or exotic cats that can’t be released into the wild - usually zoo-born or confiscated from private owners. We don’t run a traditional zoo, I’ve put some more info on the page.
CCFUK
The cheetah faces some staggering odds when it comes to survival, and that isn’t helped by the lack of awareness around their dwindling numbers. The Cheetah Conservation Fund UK works to raise awareness and educate the public about the struggles of the cheetah across Africa and Asia.
ol pejeta.
Ol Pejeta is a wildlife conservancy in Kenya. They do some brilliant conservation work that includes the local communities ad aims to raise money for wildlife without creating ‘edge’ effects that are often common in fenced wildlife parks. Ol Pejeta is also home to the last two northern white rhinos on the planet.
helping rhinos.
A rhino charity may seem like an odd choice for a big cat expert to support, but these giant animals fit my conservation ethos perfectly. If we strive to protect big and charismatic animals, the massive habitats they require to survive are protected too, which in turn helps save thousands of other species of flora and fauna.
